Sprue Brothers Models LLC 5th Anniversary
This month marks our 5th anniversary. We would like to take this moment to thank all our loyal customers who helped us reach this milestone. It is amazing how fast time goes by. When we started out in 2004, we had less than 1500 items that we stocked, and 5 years later we carry over 17,000 with approximately 15,000 different items (all modelling related) in stock at any one time. To mark this occasion, we will be doing various promotions this month. To start off, in light of the economic hardships some of us are facing, we are offering a select group of items of which most are at 50% off the SRP or more. UPS Mail Innovations Shipping Method (applicable to CONUS addresses)
Sprue Brothers has teamed up with UPS Mail Innovations (UPSMI) to ship our lightweight (under 1 lb) CONUS packages. Essentially UPSMI is replacing USPS 1st Class Mail (FCM). The cost is basically the same as 1st Class Mail as well as the transit time to outside our immediate area, however UPSMI adds a tracking function which was never available through the USPS (USPS only offers Delivery Confirmation). The only exceptions to us shipping via UPSMI is: 1) the four state area around Kansas City (Missouri/Kansas/Iowa/Nebraska) will retain FCM as FCM will likely be faster delivery for areas very close to our location; and 2) any shipments mailed on Fridays we will continue to use FCM instead of UPSMI as it will likely be faster (UPSMI mail does not move on weekends while USPS mail does). The easiest way to tell whether your package was mailed via UPSMI or USPS is what the Delivery Confirmation (also the same as the Tracking Number for UPSMI) begins with. If the number begins with "9102" then it was shipped via UPSMI, if it begins with "4202" or any other number, then it was shipped directly via USPS. Gunze Aqueous Paint Clearance
All remaining individual bottles of the Gunze Aqueous paint line (NOT the Mr Color solvent-based line) is now marked down to $1.49/bottle.
Free Shipping Note (NOTE - this change is effective now)
Please be aware that if you qualify for free shipping (orders with the merchandise totaling over $200 shipping to a continental US address) the shipping cost shown by the webstore will be removed when we pack and ship your order (the final total is included with the shipping notification email). We previously had this adjustment done automatically, however we had to remove it in order to allow for for other upcoming shipping options to function correctly. If you pay with a credit card, we will revise your total before actually charging your card. If PayPal, we will refund the difference within 1 business day of shipping your package. If money order, just send payment without the shipping charge.
Half Price Shipping Note
Please be aware that if you qualify for half price shipping (orders with the merchandise totaling between $100 and $200 shipping to a continental US address) the shipping cost shown by the webstore is BEFORE the half price discount (to determine what the shipping total will be if you qualify, just divide what the website shows as a shipping cost in half). The half price discount is given when we pack and ship your order (the final total is included with the shipping notification email). We have to do it this way due to a limitation with our software. If you pay with a credit card, we will revise your total before charging your card. If PayPal, we will refund the difference within 1 business day of shipping your package.

We have received several requests/comments recently about difficulties searching for particular items on our webstores. In most cases it was due to unfamiliarity with how our search functions work. SprueSALE - We just started a new ongoing sale called the SprueSale and the sale discount will be usually be at least 10 to 20% off and sometimes more. This sale will include items that may be overstocked on, are being discontinuing, a special purchase that we are able to pass on extra savings to you, or something that Gordon comes up with on a whim, etc. The sale items will go on sale without any notice and may end at any time, so check back often. These sale items will be listed in the Bargain Bin; and also may be found by searching for "SprueSale" on either of our site search methods (i.e. either the search pop up window or the search page). To get this started, we just put 65 various items on sale.
International Customers (May 14, 2007) - Please be advised that the US Postal Service has discontinued Surface Mail service. As a result any restricted shipping items (mainly certain glues and paints) we will no longer be able to ship outside the USA.
